Digital Media and Technology:

Become competent, creative, and confident in the use of various digital media and technology in support of learning, collaboration, and communication.

Throughout my LDT master’s program, I pushed myself to learn new tools, go beyond my comfort zone and make new creations. Below are a few examples of various media items I created with mediums new to me.

Digital Media & Technology

In my design process and as an educator, I am always looking for different ways to present content and provide my students with more student agency and voice. I keep the needs of my students at the forefront of mind and am cognizant of the best pedagogical practices to enhance their learning.

Learning Experience

Inquiry and Change:

Engage in relevant and intentional inquiry to address organizational needs and opportunities, explore problems of practice, and inform decision making that leads to positive change and growth.

I strive to create an inclusive classroom environment. I believe all students should feel supported, appropriately challenged, and have adequate learning resources no matter their race, gender, ethnicity, disability, or family background.

My change proposal, equity presentation, and a project exploring the views of a Native American friend all express avenues in which I’m supporting positive change and growth.

Professional Learning & Leadership:

Seek out opportunities for leadership to support learner agency and success by improving teaching and learning with the use of digital media and technology.

During my master’s program, I have developed my leadership skills in the realm of mentoring, coaching and professional development. As a technology specialist I will be ready to employ these skills as is needed in my school. Below are a few examples of my work.

Professional Learning & Leadership

Reflective Practice:

Continually improve professional practice by learning from and with others and exploring proven and promising practices that leverage technology to improve learners’ learning and performance.

A major component of my teaching practice includes reflection. I am constantly analyzing what works and what doesn’t. I frequently reflect on my day and regularly collaborate with my colleagues. With research and ongoing professional development, I continuously leverage my learning and technology to positively impact student learning.
